Nationwide Accident Repair Services & PPG Refinish UK sponsored Dan Cammish takes double pole, double win and double fastest lap in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Snetterton.
Another thrilling race weekend saw the championship leader gain a 53 point lead ahead of Josh Webster in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship.
Cammish qualified on pole in both races, winning both trophies and claiming a new Race Lap Record for the circuit.
Race one
The Redline racing driver got a good start off the line, keeping Josh Webster at bay through the first corner. The pair pulled away from the rest of the field and Cammish, in clean air managed to post the track record of 1:52.546 on lap 7. Webster trailed closely behind but didn’t manage to keep with the pace of Dan in the Redline Racing Porsche.
“I didn’t have to defend from Josh on the opening lap which makes all the difference when you can drive your line rather than having to defend the gap, and then it was just a case of maintaining it” commented Cammish after the race.
Race Two
With heightened confidence from race 1, Cammish was set for another win in race 2. With a composed start, Dan pulled away ahead of the field. The Yorkshireman achieved a clean sweep of fastest laps, pole positions and race victories, increasing his overall points lead to 53 as the championship heads to Knockhill in two weeks.
“The gap stayed quite the same in the second race and then I managed to edge it out towards the end, so I’m very happy and now very much looking forward to Knockhill! I’m in a great team, I have a fast car and I have a nice championship lead.”
Dan will be hoping to continue his winning form at the next Porsche Carrera Cup GB round at Knockhill, Scotland on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd August.
