Dino Zamparelli continued with a strong performance by scoring two podium finishes at Donington Park this weekend. These points ensure Dino remains top of the championship standings after four of the season’s 16 races.
After qualifying third in the rain on Saturday morning, Dino put in a good drive during race one to reel in leader Tio Ellinas but was unfortunately unable to find his way past before the end of the 23-lap race.
With a draw for the partial reverse grid placing Dino fourth for the start of the longer race two, he made a good start, holding position and quickly working his way into third place and setting the race’s fastest lap while catching the pair ahead of him. A safety car on lap 16 lost Dino the advantage he’d built to fourth and meant had to spend time defending instead of attacking, which prevented him from making a push for the race win, bringing the car home in third place.
“We were close to the win in race one and we were fast, but not fast enough overall,” said Zamparelli. “It’s good to move forwards in the reverse grid races but it wasn’t the race I wanted: I was ready to attack and be fast. Second and third is by no means a bad weekend but for me it’s all about wanting to do more and the car was awesome all weekend.”

The next race up for Zamparelli is the world-famous Monza in Italy.
