Scott Deroue’s Superstock 600 performance at Oulton Park

At Oulton Park the main focus for PPG Sponsored Tsingtao Racing, in the Superstock 600 race, was Scott Deroue, as Sam Lambert made the decision to sit out this weekend so he can focus on Assen in a few weeks.

Within the first qualifying round, Scott had an excellent result achieving the fifth fastest time. This led to a positive start to the second qualifying round, and a combination of changing track conditions and a few set up issues, led to Scott finishing in 12th. However, with combined qualifying times he did have the fastest overall performance.

On Saturday, in his warm up, Scott was one second quicker, when compared with qualifying two. This demonstrated that Scott’s pace and skill could have been worthy of a podium position. However, an awful start saw Scott drop to 21st on his first lap, but he was able to quickly recover and work through the field, achieving 8th position with the third fastest time of anyone in the race.

Scott and the team plan to improve his starts before the next round at Donnington Park, on the weekend of September 16th. Tsingtao racing believe that with an improved start Scott has the ability to reach a podium finish.
