Introducing the New AirDry Cycle to D8177

PPG proudly announces the launch of its new AirDry ancillaries D8308 and D8757 to complement the current D8177 Rapid Performance Clearcoat.

The new AirDry Hardener and Thinner have been introduced to significantly combat the rising energy costs that bodyshops are experiencing by introducing 20°C drying capabilities. As part of the development for the D8177 20°C AirDry technology, PPG has recorded circa ~ 80% energy saving compared to standard clearcoats.

D8177 multi bake cycles enables a bodyshop to choose a bake cycle that suits their needs, whether that be 60°C, 40°C or 20°C, for each individual repair. Adding to the clearcoats flexibility, D8177 can be used on any size of repair, removing the need to stock multiple clearcoats.

The unique formula of the D8177 clearcoat embodies PPG’s continued commitment in providing its customers with the best products to enhance OEM and bodyshop capabilities.

Josh Scarlett, Product Manager UK & Ireland, said: “The launch of D8177 Rapid Performance Clearcoat AirDry ancillaries means that bodyshops will no longer have to compromise between working sustainably, and at speed, with quality and performance. PPG continues to research and assist in making the industry as efficient and as profitable as possible.”

The introduction of both D8308 and D8757 AirDry anciallries is the first stage in PPG’s commitment to reduce energy consumption in bodyshops. Richard Goode, Automotive Refinish Market Director UK & Ireland announced, “we are extremely excited to reveal PPG’s new energy saving and sustainability initiatives over the coming weeks. Our latest developments will equip our partners with the latest tools, training and innovations to ensure that their operation is running at maximum efficiency.”
